The words for “brother” and “sister” are different, depending upon whether the speaker is male or female: “eonni” (older sister) if the speaker is female; “nuna” (older sister) if the speaker is male; “oppa” (older brother) if the speaker is female, “hyeong” (older brother) if the speaker is male.
